About The Role
The Disability Support Worker's role entails working alongside clients residing in either provided accommodations or their own homes. Within this role, you'll cultivate strong relationships with multiple clients, fostering enduring and meaningful professional connections. Operating within the NDIS funding framework, your mission is to help these individuals realize their goals, enhance their autonomy, and facilitate their active participation in the community. Your primary duty is to offer support to individuals with disabilities and/or psychosocial needs, empowering them to effectively manage all facets of their daily lives.
Key duties include

Aid with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), encompassing tasks like toileting, showering, dressing, cooking, and cleaning.

Deliver personalized support to clients with psychosocial needs.

Support clients in engaging with social activities, accompanying them on shopping trips and appointments.

Maintain communication with the families and representatives of your clients as necessary.

Foster positive behaviors, facilitate learning experiences, and promote skill development.
Skills & Experience
The primary role of the Disability Support Worker is to collaborate with clients residing in provided accommodations or their own homes. The ideal candidate should take pride in their ability to deliver client-centered care that honors the preferences and aspirations of the individuals they serve. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, fostering lasting and meaningful connections with clients. Additionally, close collaboration with fellow support workers and coordinators is vital, encompassing the maintenance of accurate progress notes, customized care plans, and addressing any living environment concerns.
In this position, you will work with multiple clients while adhering to the NDIS funding framework. Your goal is to assist these individuals in achieving their objectives, enhancing their self-reliance, and increasing community involvement. Your primary responsibility is to provide support to individuals with disabilities and/or psychosocial needs, enabling them to effectively manage all facets of their daily lives.
Key Requirements:

Possess or be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check.

A WA Working With Children Check is desirable but not mandatory.

Full Australian working rights.

Valid West Australian driver's license and a reliable vehicle.

Previous experience as a support worker in the health/disability sector or a relevant Cert III qualification is highly desirable but not obligatory.

Previous experience working with clients dealing with mental health issues will be highly regarded.
